Function Bikes Fox 40 Upper Kits Shipping.

June 6, 2008

Published by wisdesign

So you've seen the Function Bikes full crown kits for the 888 and Fox 40, but did you know they sell a "half-kit" with just the upper crown for the Fox 40 as well? Don't have the bank to spend on a $189 crown kit?

The Inertia Project Race Crown Upper Kit makes a great upgrade to your 40 for just a little more than you'd spend on a nice stem.

Function Bikes is pleased to announce that on top of their 888 and Fox 40 Full Crown Kits, their Fox 40 Upper Kits are also shipping to customers. The Fox 40 Upper Kit gives you a lighter, stronger CNC aluminum upper crown with dual adjustable offset direct mount bar clamps and laser etched graphics + top cap for $114.95. With the upper kit, you'll be replacing your stock 40 crown plus the added weight of a stem and longer steer tube with the kit's total weight of only 354 grams (including all hardware).

To Bad that Fox is making direct mount bolts for the 40s this year, but this is the only fully one piece clamp stem thing though.

"crown kits for the 888 and Fox 40"
Sorry bucko, but unless you stuff an extra 8mm of crap into that gap youre out of luck. You could buy one of these and then use that as an excuse to get rid of that fork and buy a 40 though!

good idea if you want to buy new, low crowns, but I'm still prefer Marzocchi 888 stem - is cheaper than it and light-weight too..
